Light of the World Academy
A tuition-Free Montessori Charter School
Welcome to Light of the World Academy. Located in Pinckney, Michigan, our Montessori charter school doesn’t just educate kindergarten through eighth-grade students — we empower them to pursue knowledge and own their learning. Light of the World Academy follows each student’s individual growth from the child's first classroom experience until the child is prepared to move on.

A Message from Our Principal and director of montessori
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to our school! Here at LOTWA we seek to bring to fruition the full human potential of our children. We do this by educating the whole person – emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically – and we respect the worth and dignity of each individual student.
Our Montessori-trained faculty and staff are intentional about developing personal relationships with each student and their family. No child is stifled and no child is pushed to move on before he or she is ready. We stress the process of learning rather than the end result, so children do not fear mistakes but rather see them as an opportunity for growth and lifelong curiosity. We provide our students with a multi-age environment in which they will learn from their peers and develop self-discipline and respect for their classmates and their community. We teach our children to be self-directed, which develops their independence and self-confidence on their journey through academic success.
We invite you to stop by the school any time! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Kathy Moorehouse and Lexi Salisbury
